Here's how you measure
Waist:
Measure around your natural waistline, the narrowest part of your torso usually just above your belly button. Avoid sucking in or pushing out your stomach and wrap the measuring tape around your waist, ensuring the tape is flat, level and snug but not too tight against your skin.
Hips:
Your hip measurement is taken at the widest part of your hips, usually at or around the level of your hip bones, which are often a few inches below your natural waistline. Wrap the measuring tape around your hips at the widest point, ensuring the tape is flat, level and snug but not too tight against your skin.
Thighs:
Stand up straight with your feet together. Your weight should be evenly distributed on both legs, your posture should be natural and your thigh muscles relaxed. Wrap the measuring tape midway between your hip and knee, at the largest part of your thigh, ensuring the tape is flat, level and snug but not too tight against your skin.
Inner leg:
Also known as the inseam, the inner leg measurement is important for determining the correct length of trousers, shorts or jeans. Stand with your feet flat on the floor and your back against a wall if possible. Your posture should be natural, with your legs together. Start from the highest point of your inner thigh, typically at the crotch area, and run the measuring tape down your inner leg, following the natural contour. Make sure that the tape is pressed gently against your skin but not too tight or loose. For full-length trousers and jeans, measure from the highest point on your inner thigh down to your ankle. For shorts, measure to your desired length.
